Pure Bible Search is a free concordance app for Android and iPhone and is derived from the excellent work by Donna Whisnant on the desktop version of King James Pure Bible search. It lets you search every word and phrase in the King James Bible, with occurrence counts, wildcards, punctuation, exclusions, and Noah Webster's 1828 dictionary built in. No account, no network, no advertising.

No. The entire King James Bible, its concordance index, and Webster's 1828 Unabridged Dictionary are stored inside the app. It works in airplane mode, underground, or anywhere without a signal.

Nothing at all. There are no analytics, no trackers, no accounts, and no third-party services of any kind. The Android build does not even request internet permission. What you search, save, and read stays on your device.

Brandon Peterson's search files from his book 'Sealed By The King' and the website 'kjvcode.com' ship with the app. Each one is a named, saved search that finds a specific pattern in the text — useful for study and for proving to yourself how amazing the patterns of 7 appear EXCLUSIVELY in the King James Bible. If you're not familiar with the King James patterns and evidence of supernatural design you should really check it out.

What does the app do with wildcards and exclusions?

You can use * as a wildcard (e.g. *eth finds every word ending in -eth) and subtract terms from results (e.g. "Jesus" without "Jesus Christ"). You can also restrict any search to a single book, testament, or category.

Why does the app show arithmetic next to some counts?

Where a total is one of the numbers worth naming — 343 (7×7×7), 2,331 (777×3) — the app prints the factorisation beside the count. This is a feature of the search files, not automatic for every result.

Is the app available for iPhone and Android?

iPhone/iPad is available. Android is in development. Download links will appear on this site when they are available. Note the Android tablets will be supported.
